In 2024, a Russian craft brewery introduced a Chinese-made special JHD drum dryer for beer yeast to process 1 tons of waste yeast mud produced daily. The equipment solves the problem of low efficiency of the traditional drying method in the local winter low temperature environment.

Jiutian beer yeast dryer is a drum scraper dryer. During the drying process, the wet yeast slurry is evenly coated on the surface of the rotating drum. Steam (0.15-0.6MPa) or heat transfer oil conducts heat through the inner wall of the drum to evaporate the water; the dried material is peeled and collected by the scraper. The thermal efficiency is 70%-80%. The scraper drum dryer is suitable for paste-like viscous materials. In the Russian beer yeast drying project, the equipment is particularly suitable for the cold climate of Russia. The antifreeze design and waste heat recovery system enable the equipment to operate stably at -30℃.
