The carbonization process of Jiutian horizontal carbonization furnace:

1. Drying stage.

From the ignition to the furnace temperature rising to 200°C, the moisture contained in the machine-made rod mainly depends on external heat and the heat generated by its own combustion to evaporate. The chemical composition of the mechanism sticks has remained virtually unchanged.

2. The initial stage of carbonization.

At this stage, the heat is mainly generated by the combustion of the rod itself, so that the furnace temperature rises to between 160 and 280 °C. At this point, the woody material undergoes a thermal decomposition reaction, and its composition begins to change. Among them, the unstable components, such as hemicellulose, decompose to produce CO2, CO and a small amount of acetic acid and other substances.

3. Comprehensive carbonization stage The temperature at this stage is 300-600°C.

During this stage, the woody material is thermally decomposed rapidly, and a large amount of liquid products such as acetic acid, methanol and wood tar are generated at the same time. In addition, flammable gases such as methane and ethylene are produced, and these flammable gases are burned in the furnace. Pyrolysis and gas combustion produce a large amount of heat, which raises the temperature of the furnace, and the woody material is dry-distilled into charcoal at high temperature.
