Jiutian recently officially launched a dry-mix mortar production line for a client in Umtata, South Africa. This production line will not only provide high-quality dry-mix mortar products to the local construction industry, but will also further promote regional economic development. The sand dryer integrated into the production line, with its advanced technology and exceptional performance, is a highlight of the entire project.
A sand dryer, also known as a river sand dryer, yellow sand dryer, or quartz sand dryer, is a type of drying equipment specifically designed to process large quantities of material. Its stable and reliable operation and flexible operation adapt to diverse production environments and material characteristics, resulting in a significant throughput. Primarily suitable for granular materials, it excels in drying sand, river sand, and quartz sand, efficiently removing moisture from the material and ensuring smooth operation in subsequent production steps.
This sand dryer offers numerous significant advantages. Its designed capacity fully meets the large-scale production needs of dry-mix mortar production lines, processing large quantities of sand per hour and significantly improving production efficiency. It has a wide range of applications, suitable not only for drying river sand, manufactured sand, and quartz sand, but also for effectively drying a variety of materials, including mineral powder and coal slag, providing a wider range of material options for production lines. The equipment's scientific design minimizes flow resistance, ensuring smooth material flow during the drying process, reducing energy consumption and equipment wear. Furthermore, it offers a wide operating range, allowing operators to easily adjust even when encountering unforeseen circumstances during production, such as sudden changes in material moisture, to ensure stable operation.
From an energy-saving perspective, this sand dryer utilizes advanced technology, achieving thermal efficiency improvements of over 40% compared to traditional single-drum dryers. It also supports a wide range of fuels, including white coal, bituminous coal, coal gangue, oil, and gasoline, allowing for flexible selection based on local fuel resources and reducing production costs. Compared to single-drum dryers, it also occupies approximately 60% less floor space, reducing construction costs while also enabling a more compact and streamlined production line layout and facilitating installation. In terms of sealing performance, this equipment achieves zero air leakage, completely resolving the sealing difficulties of traditional dryers and further improving energy efficiency. Furthermore, with a discharge temperature of ≤60°C, the material can be fed directly into the storage bin without requiring cooling in a cooling shed, reducing energy consumption and time costs in subsequent processes. Furthermore, its coal consumption is only one-third of that of a single-drum dryer, saving 40% of electricity and consuming less than 9 kg of standard coal per ton, truly achieving energy-saving and efficient production.
According to the project manager, the commissioning of this dry-mix mortar production line will effectively alleviate the supply and demand imbalance in the local dry-mix mortar market, providing strong material support for infrastructure construction, real estate development, and other projects in Umtata and the surrounding area. It will also bring higher economic benefits to customers.
